I am having issues getting the Reach RX to appear as an option on ESRI’s QuickCapture and Survey123 apps on Apple devices. The RX is the MFi version with 1.7 firmware.
I followed the the integration process (docs / youtube) for Field Maps (v. 24.2.1) and everything seems to work apart from getting the following warning.
The Location Profile is set to the default and Field Maps is still showing an accuracy just over 1 cm.
When trying to add the RX to QuickCapture (v. 1.20.22)/Survey123 (v. 3.20.69) I,
go to Settings
selection Location Provider
click Add Location Provider > via Bluetooth
the app searches but then toggles off the Discover selection after about 25 seconds
I toggle the Discover button again, but it does not find the reach and stop again after the same amount of time
I have tried it on an iPhone SE (3rd), iPhone 12 Pro, and an iPad Pro (12.9 6th) all running iOS 17.7.1.
I tried looking checking to see if these apps were not an option, but was did not find anything that talked about the being the exception or any integration guides. The only thing I was able to find was this post that was left unresolved, but it was not specified if they were trying on iOS.
An incompatible location profile means that your location profile in Field Maps is incompatible with the coordinate system of the map you are using. Could you please double-check the datum and projection chosen in Field Maps?
We are aware of this and are in contact with ESRI regarding the integration issue with the Survey123 iOS app. If there’s any news on this, I’ll let you know. Thank you!
Hi Ruth, good to know that you are working with Esri on this. This issue is with Android too. But we can still use RX via lefebure NTRIP app on Android.
Has there been any update on using the RX with Esri’s Survey123 and QuickCapture on iOS? I’m able to add it as a Provider to FieldMaps, but not Esri’s other apps. That functionality is incredibly important to our data collection efforts.
Do you happen to know if there is a timeline or specific hurdles being faced? We are hoping to get these deployed for our field team but are relying on QuickCapture being an option.
I understand that this specific integration is important in your workflow. We are actively communicating with ESRI to resolve the issue.
We’re awaiting their update on the matter and will post an update once we have more information. With this, I am afraid we can’t provide a specific timeline for the release.
I just wanted to confirm that Reach RX is working with Survey123. We’ve been successfully using it for a couple of weeks. Glad that got worked out last month.
Thank you @Y_Chau@ruth.bongon@bshepard for all confirming. I was finally able to get my unit back to test this and was able to use the RX in both apps. Thanks!
When I select “Add location provider” it just whirs for a while and then gives up.
(RX is on and connected and linked to Emlid flow and also shows up as connected over bluetooth).
ok, I’ve tried it with Quick Capture and the same thing happens. Discover whirs for a while and then times out with no devices found.
I have verified that RX is connected via bluetooth and the Emlid Flow app is connected to the RX as well.
Note that all apps were installed today so they should be the most current versions
@TimB - make sure the firmware is up to date in the Emlid Flow app.
We just purchased some more RX units since Survey123 was operational, and the devices did not appear in Survey123/QuickCapture until updating the firmware.
