Nilesh,
We haven’t tested any UART to USB converters, but they should work with the M2. Some of our users shared that they could use such converters for different purposes. In these cases, for example:
I am using a Reach RS2 with latest Firmware and am attempting to output an NMEA string via the EXT port and a RS232 cable to a serial-to-USB converter on my Panasonic Toughbook.
I am checking the port with Realterm and YAT but no data is received, despite all parameters (Baud rate, stop bits,…) set correctly.
I am at a loss what I may be doing wrong here.
Is this an UART to serial RS232 conversion problem?
How can I solve this?
Any tips highly appreciated!
So I’m trying to feed location data via UART/NMEA to an INS module. When I connect it to the INS I get nothing. So I purchased a USB to TTL adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075N82CDL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ), determined the COM port from the device manager and opened Putty to try and see if the M2 was sending NMEA messages. When I connect, I don’t see anything. Am I doing something wrong? I connected the TX wire from S1 to the RXD on the USB adapter.
I think you can find more examples on the forum.
