Issues with connecting to Wi-Fi on v2.21.0

Hi
yesterday very exited for new updates this morning very frustrating for the wifi

I try to describe the workflow to understand my issue

I was able to perform the update after install intel diver and several unplug & plug in now I need to setup the wifi connection to proceed and …

I’m not able to connect with my home wifi network and if I want to use the default address 192.168.42.1 i need to disable all wifi and wifi extender in the house and nothing happens

the only way to communicate with the reach is using the hotspot of my mobile phone
thx

Francesco

Hi Francesco,

Could you please share on which step do you encounter an issue? Screenshots would be of much help here.

Are you able to access 192.168.42.1 in the browser? What’s the LED status on Reach while it appears?

Also, may I ask you to send me the Full System report generated on this unit in PM?

Hi

I don’t know if I’m able to explain the issue but one basic question
To reach reach at addrress 192.168.42.1(to perfrom further settings) I need to disable all wifi network around me ?
thx

Francesco

Hi Francesco,

You can just enable the Reach hotspot in the ReachView Wi-Fi tab to accomplish this:

Hi
finally it works but I understood that my home wifi create some issue I mean if I disable my wifi router and wifi extender in the house I’m able to reach the device only with my hotspot from my phone

thx

Francesco

Hi Francesco,

If you encounter any other difficulties, let us know.

Updated reach RS to 2.21.0, this is the third one I have updated and the only one that I am having issues with. The Emlid Firmware Tool shows it completed and to now connect to the reachxxx wifi which is not available and has not become available for 30 minutes after the tool says update complete. The LED’s on the RS are showing a solid Amber (pwr) and a solid Blue (net), the stat led is off. I am unable to even turn the RS off at all. Haven’t had any issues updating the other 2 at all, even using the same pc.

Looking at the docs for the RS/RS+ led status and I see this which means internal error

This came up after a successful flash with the emlid firmware tool and was trying to connect to the RS wifi so I could complete the install process but the wifi is not available, how does one fix this, has this issue come up before?

Could you restart this RS by holding a power button for 15 seconds?

If you see solid blue LED, then you should see Wi-Fi network of this Reach. Could you confirm Reach is not creating a Wi-Fi hotspot?

Confirmed it does not work, it will power down then when I power back up it goes directly into internal error same leds lite up and stay solid. The one and only thing I can tell you was different from this RS to the other 2 I did was when I first started the reflashing this units wifi hotspot was turned off as it was not needed for the application it was being used for. Thats 100% the only difference between it and the others that I know of. Seems bricked! I have attached log files and copied and pasted pretty much all the diagnostic info i know how to give.

Did you try holding the power button while inserting the USB-plug, so it will enter firmware update mode? This helped for me.

Matthew,

Thanks for the report, we’ll try to reproduce this and will get back in the nearest time

@wizprod Will try it in the morning, was your RS stuck in internal error mode solid amber and solid blue light like depicted above?

@dmitriy.ershov
one thing to note that I am not sure of is if this was running the last stable 2.18 before upgrading as this unit was mainly used as a static base and as long as we had connectivity not sure if folks bothered to upgrade the reachview app. I hope that a update like the one for the RS units to bring them to 2.21 wouldn’t matter what last version you were on as this to me is a complete fresh install, might be wrong hopefully you can clarify that for me. If that log file I posted is not correct I had just reflashed 2 other RS units and 4 Reach RTK units before this one that gave me fits might have sent the wrong log file!

Only solid amber on the rs+ I had problems with. But nothing worked at that point. Setting it into the firmware update mode did solve it.

@dmitriy.ershov

Would there be any issues trying to reflash this unit?

Hi Matthew,

I’ve tried to replicate the issue you described, however, without success.

May I ask you to try reflashing it once again to check if it helps?

Firmware update mode is used on RS+ devices only, not RS.

@tatiana.andreeva, @dmitriy.ershov,

I might have slept in a bit this morning! I have re-flashed and all is well and working. Wonder what the issue was but it ended well. Thanks for your help appreciate it!
