CRS showing in App but not desktop

Hi there,

When creating a new project in the app, i can search and find AGD84 (EPSG:20353), but when i try to do the same project on a desktop i can’t find the coordinate system.

App:

Desktop:

So i have created the project in the app, and then accessed it on the desktop where it shows the correct CRS.

Desktop:

When i try to import a CSV with easting and northings through the app and desktop, which is in EPSG:20353, it places the points in the wrong spot.

This is where it placed them in flow 360:

This is where they should be when importing them into QGIS:

This is a big issue for us. Can you please offer some support

I have a stupid question…did you search by code in the office (flow 360) as opposed to AGD84? Also, are sure that your XY are in meters?

Yes i did try searching the EPSG code, and yes im sure XY are in Meters. The points are located correctly when i import them in to QGIS.

I just test and couldn’t find it either way as well. I would say that this was an oversight in flow 360 or a bug.

Correct me if i am wrong, but if i understand correctly, the mobile APP has all of the coordinate systems available, but the Flow 360 platform does not??? (Emlid still working on that???)

If you select your correct coordinate system in the Mobile App project creation, then open later in the Flow 360 platform, does the coordinate system carry over and the points are still in the correct place… or not?

It appears to carry across, as it shows here

But when importing a CSV, or even adding easting and northings manually, both in the app and desktop, the points are in the wrong place.

I can share a CSV with some points if you want to try on your end in flow/360 and then try in other GIS software.

If i convert the points to GDA94, and create a new project in GDA94, the points are located in the correct spot. Which is quite odd.

I “think” GDR94 is the same as WGS84 which Emlid natively uses. So you are transforming your original GEOGRAPHIC WGS84 points to PROJECTED points, then back to GEOGRAPHIC GDR94 points.

Prob a good idea to get a head start and upload your points etc for others to look at.

See attached some points in AGD84/AMG Zone 53

Wonder if your points / coordinate system in QGIS are incorrect?

Dont think so, because they show where they should be in respect to the aerial.

Where did the aerial come from? Is the aerial base map correctly positioned in QGIS?

Pulled your coords into SurveyMaster app (AGD84/AMG Zone 53) … they match QGIS. Something is up.

Do the points show in a different location if you try to import into flow app?

Not sure why QGIS shows AGD84/AMG Zone 53 in the wrong area of Australia?

I do not use the Flow app SURVEY subscription personally as it still WIP. So I cannot see any aerial maps… but using the streetmap, appears points may be shifted lower left as your show.

I had the same, should be a strip from top to bottom. I think it’s just a boundary representation issue and everything still shows correctly. I have asked why the boundary isn’t correct in the QGIS support group

Figured that, as no error comes up using the same CRS in SurveyMaster.

I tried MicroSurvey FieldGenius ANDROID version also, and got CRS error and gave up.

So it’s either an issue with the CRS in flow, or I wonder how likely it is to be an issue with the base map. Might try creating my own base map layer and see what happens.

Can’t check using the Emlid equipment yet, as we only just ordered it.

Seems to me in Flow??? As your points matched in SurveyMaster and QGIS.
