Antenna height w M2 attached to drone

I’m new to this so please bear with me. I have a DJI Phantom 4 pro with a Reach M2 attached to it. I’ll be using NTRIP throughout the flight. Would my antenna height be my drones altitude for the mission? Thanks a bunch in advance!

No your antenna height would be the base of the antenna, depending on the manufacturer. However, their should be some kind of offset to the camera also. Usually this is taken care of in the image processing software and based on your drone manufacturer and type of camera used in the setup.

I’m using the Emlid Multi-band GNSS antenna with the adapter cable that runs straight into the M2 unit

As far as post processing, for the antenna you could use the bottom of the antenna. But there should be some kind of offset (x,y and z) to the camera lense. What type of drone are you using ?

What @EBE111057 mentioned is correct. The antenna height for your Reach M2 is not the same as the drone’s altitude during your flight. Instead, it refers to the vertical distance between the GNSS antenna (mounted on your drone) and the reference point (like the camera or sensor).

As an example, if your M2 antenna is mounted 10 cm (0.1 meters) above the drone’s camera, you’d input 0.1 meters as the antenna height during data processing. This adjustment ensures that the final positioning data relates to the camera or sensor’s position, not the GNSS antenna.

Remember, the drone’s flight altitude is managed separately by the flight control system, while the antenna height remains fixed.

The M2 is a L2 receiver so I need to add 0.037 to my antenna height figure of 0.174m?

Yes, working with the M2 you should consider the vertical distance from the reference point of the camera/sensor to the base of the receiver plus the fixed antenna phase center of the M2 (0.037m).
