Hi Emlid, would it be possible to add a feature to the website and the app, to directly copy/send points from one project to another?

Reason:

I often setup for measure and create benchmarks on a site, go back to office and do design work, then back to site to “Stakeout”.

Because the design work is imported into a new (Clean) project, the benchmarks are not there. I try to remember to import them at the office, but I often forget… LOL.

It would be amazing if I could open the other project on the app, onsite, and select the benchmark point, and just “Send” it to the new project, so I can use it for a site base shift.

I can do this now, onsite, and in the office, but its very very slow and cumbersome!

Is it the Export/Import process that is lagging? I do this often when I setup sub-projects for specific purposes because there’s no point layering and the screen gets too cluttered.

I like this idea because sometimes I just want a few of the points out and when you export it dumps all the points, so I have to clean the CSV and then reimport it into the new project. This is not feasible on a mobile device.

Hi @brianC,

Welcome back on the Community Forum!

Thank you for your explanation. We’re not planning it right now, but I can see how it can be helpful. I will forward this to the developers. I can’t give you an ETA, but I will let you know if I have any updates.

The only workaround is to export the CSV and delete all points that you don’t need, and then import it into the other project where you need these benchmarks. We did not test them, but I think there are some CSV editor apps on Android and iOS you can try as a last resort if the import is forgotten in the office.

Feel free to contact us if you have any other features you would like to see!

Hi Michael,
Your reply made me think of an alternative solution. While a simple feature to “send” or “pull” a point to/from another project would be best imo.
Maybe it’s as simple as Emlid allowing an extra step when importing CSV.
If a dialog box came up, listing all points in the CSV, and allow a selection tick box to just choose the ones you want…
Still not great on mobile device though. Mobile app just needs a button to select project, then select points to import, done.

Yeah, exactly! Or select them on screen.
