What's the maximum number of M2 with Lora radio adapters that can receive base correction from a RS2?

Hi,

Wondering…

What’s the maximum number of M2 with Lora radio adapters that can receive base correction from a RS2?

You should be able to connect multiple receivers to the base but be aware that the more you connect the faster the base battery will run out.

Great question,

If its just one way broadcast comms, as many as you can fit within the los, would not effect base battery.

If its done with even simple handshake, which I think it is, 255 or whatever artificial limit they may have set. This would affect battery slightly as tracking slave radios would have a bit of processing.

Hopefully Emlid can give a definite answer, but Im sure its limit is higher than you would need for any practical application.

Hi @sherwinfun,

I agree with Michael. Indeed, Reach RS2 base doesn’t have a limit on the number of rovers that can be connected. However, the high number of connected rovers doesn’t drain the base’s battery faster.

That is interesting and good to know. There must be some difference in communications with the Emlid gear than what Topcon does because it is a 100% fact that the more machines you throw on a single base the faster it will die.
