Has anyone experienced this problem? I haven’t seen anyone with the same issue, so it makes me think it’s my Macbook Air. Help?!
I had a connection issue when trying to update an RX but it was on Windows platforms. I tested several computers before sending the RX in for warranty replacement.
Hi @drone615,
Welcome to the community!
Could you share a bit more about the issue? I’m not sure I fully get it yet, but I’d be happy to help once I have a clearer picture.
Ok, cool, thanks for letting me know! I’ll give it a shot on Windows soon. -Seth
Hi Merryna! Thanks for replying! This problem replicates itself at each attempt. Here’s the workflow I’ve been using: open Reach Firmware Flash Tool 1.12.1 from desktop, then connect Emlid Reach RX to my Macbook Air via provided USB-C cable. Under Select Reach dropdown menu, I select Reach RX then click Next. Step 2 commences but after 2-3 seconds of attempting to connect the operation is abandoned and further movement ceases (buttons gray out). I checked the cable by using another one, but the same issue occurred. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the flash tool several times. Aside from those details, not much more to share than what can been observed from the video. Let me know if there’s anything you can think of that I haven’t tried! Thank you! -Seth
Hi Seth,
Thank you for the detailed explanation. That does sound unusual. When the reflashing failed, did it generate any report? If so, please send it to support@emlid.com.
I also agree that testing with another device or operating system, such as a Windows laptop, is a good idea. Let me know how it goes.
Merryna, I successfully updated the Reach RX with my Dell laptop. No issues whatsoever, so this isolates the issue in a computer compatibility problem.
How could I access a generated report on this operation? I’ll send it to the support email you provided.
Hi Seth,
The flasher log is only generated when flashing fails, so there will not be a log when the reflashing is finished.
I see that the issue happened only when trying to reflash with the MacBook. Could you share a screen recording when the issue happened on the MacBook?
