Greetings,
Today I was unable to get my Reach RX to connect to nearby ntrip base stations. I last used it on 4/18/25 with the same base station and it worked fine but seemed a bit slower to connect and get a FIX. I ensured that the ntrip connection information was accurate and has not changed. I did notice there was a new firmware update, but I have never been able to update my Reach RX from version 1.2 since we first purchased it (about a year and a half ago). The Flash Tool has never worked and has not been able to complete step 2 “Connect to the Reach.” Could the out-of-date firmware finally be causing issues with connecting to ntrip? Is there another way to update the firmware? I am using app version 12.2.
Thank you
@ua.wetlands,
The latest firmware version is 1.8. Seems like your receiver is out of date. Let’s start the troubleshooting by reflashing the firmware. This is the only option to update your firmware to the latest version.
Since you’re stuck at step 2, to connect the receiver in firmware mode, press and hold the power button while inserting the USB cable into the laptop. Release the button once it’s connected. The flasher tool should then be able to detect the receiver.
Also, when you connect your RX to your PC, does it appear in the Device Manager under the list of devices?
Thank you! Holding the power button while inserting the USB cable allowed me to connect to the Flash Tool and update the firmware to version 1.8. This solved the problem and I am able to get a FIX. Thank you!
