Traverse Height Difference

This might be blindingly obvious…if so my apologies.

When I select a point to traverse from, I can enter 2D distance, Direction Degrees and Height Difference.

Why am I not able to enter a negative height difference?

The use case is I want a point to be x metres lower than my reference point. That means that when I stake that point I should automatically get a cut value. At present this isn’t possible in EF.

Many thanks for advice here.

Thanks @davehofer1993 I cannot on iPhone with the latest iOS I simply get a numerical only keyboard.

On iPadOS I just realised I can. I get a full keyboard.

Are you able to enter negatives on the iPhone?

Perhaps this is a bug?

Like you said that would depend on your keyboard , I don’t have iPhone

No iPhone here either… but wondering if a work around until then, can you cut & paste a “-” ?

Thanks @davehofer1993 and @timd1971

I’d be keen to hear from Emlid and also from other iPhone users. It’s frustrating not being able to simply type a negative number with my iPhone. If there’s something I can do regarding keyboards I’d be keen to hear that. I haven’t found anything in my searching.

I see the issue is that you’re only given the numeric keyboard. If I copy a “-“ and paste it in, then I can enter a negative value.

I don’t know if there are any other keyboard options to make this simple, but it will likely be a button or toggle that should be implemented in the software.

Shame it wasn’t noticed during development.

I was able to reproduce it as well on an iPhone, we’ll get it fixed! Sorry that we let this slip into a release. The temporary workaround is to copy and paste a value, which is definitely not ideal, but this is the only solution I can suggest until we patch this.
