[Solved] Maiden flight - crash :(

Hi Guys,

This evening I tried my first flight with Navio2.

I’m not sure what happened, but it crashed, and motors would not poweroff - I had to directly unplug the battery.

Looks like I may have a damaged motor, but I’m not sure if it is a cause or consequence of the crash.

Can you give me indications on what I should look at in my flight log to understand what happened?

You can also find my flight log here. http://www.filedropper.com/2016-05-0317-19-59

Hi Pierig,

Could you please provide the onboard logs? You can fetch them using Mission Planner.

Hi Igor,

I think this is the right file:

Are you sure that it is the right log? It seems like it did not take off at all in this one.

My apologies, you’re right. This one should be the right one http://www.filedropper.com/2016-05-0317-20-25

Do you have a picture of your setup? There is a spike in the baro reading which makes me think that baro was not covered from sunlight.

I don’t have a picture right now, but the rpi and navio2 are in a 3d printed case with a cover (Navio2+RPI2 Case by Kija - Thingiverse). I will add some foam on the barometer and perform further testing this weekend.
Thanks for your guidance, and I will let you know of my progress.

After the foam was added, I flew 3 times successfully. The hexa followed my waypoints nicely.
I notice I don’t have the spikes anymore in the baro reading.

I now have another problem where my landing gear is not behaving as expected, but that deserves another thread. Thanks for your help Igor.
