Hello everyone!
I have a question regarding the download speed from the Emlid Reach-M2. The speed is so low that downloading a daily log file takes several hours. It’s a real disaster.
Guys, could you please advise how I can increase the download speed?
The mentioned speed is when downloading via the local network. When connecting directly to the Emlid Reach-M2, the speed doubles, but it’s still extremely slow.
Are there any other ways to download files from the receiver faster?
Downloading logs for several hours is definitely unusual, and I agree it’s not ideal. I’m here to help you figure this out. Could you share these details?
Are you downloading the logs via Reach Panel? Have you also tried downloading them from Emlid Flow? I’m wondering if the speed is the same in both cases.
Is your M2 connected to a Wi-Fi network when downloading, or is it in hotspot mode?
Hi, I have conducted speed tests and summarized the results in the table below:
Notes:
The dashes (“–”) indicate that in the Emlid Flow mobile app, the download speed and estimated time remaining are not displayed, so I could not record these values.
There is no significant difference in download speed between Router Wi-Fi mode and Active Hotspot mode. The speed is approximately the same in both cases.
Regarding downloading via Emlid Flow, there is an inconvenient issue:
The app does not display the current download speed or the estimated time remaining.
When downloading large files, it is impossible to minimize the app. If the app is minimized during a download, an error occurs, and the download fails.
Connection method:
Router Wi-Fi: slightly more stable speed, but still very low.
Active Hotspot: download speed 1.5–2 times higher compared to Router Wi-Fi, but still too slow for large files.
Thanks for the detailed breakdown! Are all your logs downloading slowly, or is it just one specific log? Could you please send the Full System report to support@emlid.com? It’ll help me look into it further.
