Skyplot not finding RINEX 3.03 navigational data

I’m using Emlid Studio 1.8 with a Reach RS+ on version 32. I’m trying to look assess the raw observation recorded by the unit in RINEX 3.03 by looking at the skyplot created using the .24O & .24P files recorded by the unit but no matter when it was recorded or what the filename is. It never seems to generate the skyplot stating that there is “No navigational data” when the files are right next to eachother in the same folder.

I have attached screenshots of how my data is located and the result from Emlid Studio. As well as how my unit is set up for logging.

Screenshot of the file directory for example file showing how they are located in the same folder.

Screenshot of Emlid Studio showing it is able to read and show the Satellite visibility (it also is able to show number of satellite’s visible)

Screenshot of Emlid Studio showing for the example files. That it is not generating the Skyplot regardless of the fact it has access to the navigational data.

Is anyone else able to replicate this issue with their unit, RS+ or not, with RINEX 3.03?

Hi @lukemccarthy12235,

Did I understand correctly that you want to view the sky plot after converting the file to RINEX? If you use the Convert to RINEX option to convert the original RINEX file from Reach, it won’t generate the navigation file as the RINEX obs file doesn’t contain navigation data.

To visualize the sky plot, you should drag and drop the original RINEX observation file from Reach rather than the converted one. Emlid Studio will use the associated navigation file in the same directory.

If this is not the case, please feel free to email the files to us at support@emlid.com, and I’ll investigate it. Thanks!

Ahhh I gotcha. Sorry I was getting confused as I didn’t realise it was possible to just drag data straight onto the window to view the raw data. I think the Tip box for Assessing raw data was probably confusing myself a little .

Just future reference for anyone else who finds this post. You need to drag it into the “Plot area” not into the “left panel”. The data appeared for me after that.

Thanks for your help!
