Reach RX Hardware integration

Im I correct in assuming that this app would work with the RX

Want to get images and RTK data from phone camera and this was the only app I could find.

Thanks for any advice.

Snagged this from their App page on Google Play. I know the RS2 series used the ublox zed but not sure about the RX or if it would even work despite having the chip model.

“Please note, that an external GNSS antenna/chip (like Sepentrio, u-blox ZED F9P) is required!”

Wonder if you have to or could have MOCK LOCATION turned on? I.e. Lefebure or GNSS Master?

I don’t think you do. We have done some tests and app works with REach3 but not R2 as I dont think there is BT on the one we have.

I’ve been trying to find the time to do some simple terrestrial photogrammetry using Metashape. It’s pretty cool what the software can do. I already have Ardusimple’s receiver for the phone (one of my many toys). I’m going to test this out this weekend !

Hi @excellent.geography,

I checked here the integration of the REDcatch with RX, and it recognizes the RX to connect. The app requires an external GNSS for RTK photo geotagging and supports Bluetooth connections. So, getting an NMEA stream from Reach RX is possible.

Thanks. I thought so. Just need a good photo capture app that supports writing of RTK data to exit. Any suggestions?

Why won’t the app above work ? If you have any of its supported devices, you’re good to go.

Doesn’t seem to work on newer versions of android unfortunately.

I installed on my phone (motorola one 5G UW ace) and it’s Android 12. It apparently works although I haven’t connected my GNSS to it yet.

I’ll try and hook mine up tomorrow with my M2.

I have android 14 and permissions don’t work properly. App hasn’t been updated for a year…but may be a fix

Hi, I am one of the developers of RTKcamera App and discovered this posts. Just letting you know the latest version on Playstore is compatible with latest Android version.
We needed some time to ensure a <0.8 sec full-resolution RTK geotagged photo triggering. This was quite challenging. Autotrigger feature for 3d modelling was introduced too.
You may give it a try and we would be glad for feedback.
