RS3 EF360 Base setup, Local Coordinates

Continuing the discussion from Using RS3 in Trimble Access:

Hi Zoltan,
I’m using the RS3 Base and Rover. I’ve inherited a construction job where the control points were provided by others. The coordinate pair listed as the origin point for grid to ground conversion is given in Ground values with a conversion scale factor. The Datum is NAD83 (2011) CA-2. Can I manually enter those values or do I need Lat/Long to begin with? I’m using Emlid Flow 360. Is the localization routine also know as Site Calibration?
Thanks for your consideration,
Michael B

Hi @surveys,

Is the localization routine also know as Site Calibration

Yes, indeed. Localization in Emlid Flow is the same as site calibration.

Can I manually enter those values or do I need Lat/Long to begin with

Do you have the localization parameters from the previous projects? Could you please share them with us along with the coordinate point pairs? Since they contain sensitive information, you can send them to us at support@emlid.com.

If you have the grid coordinates(control points) and the measured coordinates in global coordinates, you can use them as point pairs to create a localized site in Emlid Flow.

You can read more about localization in Emlid Flow here.
