Reach RS as base station for Trimble rover

Hi,

I am considering to use a Reach RS base station to use in combination with a trimble rover. The rover accepts RTCM3 input via RS232. Can this work, and if so which radio would I need to connect to the rover? It’s not clear to me if the 3DR or RFD are on the same frequency/protocol as the base station, or do I need to connect a transmitter to the RS external port?
