Reach Flashing Problem

My new reach modules are getting connected to the network and I can see the IP assigned in FING. But when I access the ip through browser its not responding.

I also tried reflashing the module but the process is not getting finished in Intel Phone tool. It stops at 69%. After flashing partially the module still connects to the wifi network and I get new IP in fing but still the browser is not responding to the IP address.

Also I am not getting the wifi hotspot of reach after this as it automatically connects to the network.

Last few lines of Flasing log is here :

Did you install the Intel Edison drivers? Docs

Yes, the edison drivers are installed properly. In fact all the process works fine as shown in docs but it stops at 69%. I tried it on different pcs with windows 7 and 10 several times. The result is same.

Second thing which I found is after these lines in log
05/17/16 09:35:32.062 INFO [Port 2/8] RunningSleeping for 6 secondscommand
05/17/16 09:35:38.062 INFO [Port 2/8] CommandSleeping for 6 secondssucceed
05/17/16 09:35:38.062 INFO [Port 2/8] RunningWait for device with status pos on port 2/8command
edison starts as normal device and I can see the autoplay window for edison drive.

Not only this it also connects to the network specified before flashing and I can see the ip in fing.

Hi!

What is your OS version? Can you please go to device manager and see if there is an Intel Edison entry there?

I tried on WIndows 7 32 bit, 64 bit and Windows 10 32 bit.

When connected to pc it shows these devices in device manager
ports ->
Intel Edison USB Composite Device
Intel Edison Virtual Com Port

Intel SOC -> DnX USB Driver

Disk drives -> Linux File-CD Gadget USB Device

Network adapters-> Intel Edison USB RNDIS Device

Also shows Edison drive in computer

When connected through phone flash tool
It shows Merrifield Device under Intel Soc
Also some intel dfu

Cant see only “Intel Edison” entry. But there is no yellow marked device.

The flasing on reach is not getting completed. But it seems to be working on 69% flashing. It does connect to wifi network but I’m unable to access reachview through the IP which it connects on. But when I changed the password for the wifi which I saved on reach it creates the wifi hotspot and I’m able to see the edison dialong on192.168.42.1:5000 and reachview on 192.168.42.1.

Can I upgrade the firmware through this dialog. Which file I have to choose over here. - see screenshot attached.

I had the same problem on two pcs but it worked on the third and oldest that I tried which was running Windows 7 32 bit.

Can you try this using command line? In most cases, it helps.

It finally got flashed with linux and started working.

Now there is another problem. I have integrated with pixhawk and using 3dr radio with erb protocol. Everything seems to work fine but the copter isn’t flying correctly. It starts circling as soon as I start injecting gps data from base. When I connect rover to wifi I get float and sometimes fix status but still the copter keeps on circling. When I stop injecting data from base it flies very steady on gps. I have mounted both the antennas correctly and on both reach units I get 5 green bars on reachview when set to rover mode. But as soon as I inject the base data it misbehaves. What am I doing wrong?

Can you please send me the Pixhawk and Reach logs via a private message? We will see what we can do

I’ll send you the logsin 3-4 days as I’m away. Meanwhile can you tell me how to set the base coordinates?

This time I put the base in rover mode. Waited for few minutes and copied the longitude latitude and altitude and saved in base mode. Is there any more accurate methid to do this? Because I think I’m doing something wrong in base configuration. When I disable first GPS and auto switch I can see that the position is continuously drifting. This happens when I start inject from base tcp connection.

I had this same problem. Stopped using the intel program and starting using the terminal w/commands. It works every time and very fast.
