Has there been any updates on this issue?
Good day Emlid Team,
After updating my RS2 base and rover to firmware version 32, I cant seem to find the option in the menus to change the rover receiver to operate in static mode (To collect data in areas where RTK doesn’t work and I may be able to post process). I would greatly appreciate any assistance that can be provided. Also, connecting to the receivers via Wi-fi has also been an issue whereby the connection continues to ‘drop off’ (also had this issue with the previous firmware version 29). I don’t have this issue however if I’m connected to the same network (home network) with my phone and the GPS units but out on field its pretty terrible even though I have the settings for the devices to hotspot their Wi-Fi connection.
As far as static mode, it has been removed for multi-band receivers. Emlid claims it doesn’t make any noticeable difference. Search past posts on it.
As far as the wifi… I’ve noticed more posts about this issue too… so who knows.
Hello everyone!
Today we’ve released Reach Firmware 32.1 for all devices!
Here is the list of fixes:
Hi Rajiv,
Regarding the static mode, I can second @timd1971’s words. Since firmware version 31, the Static mode has been removed, as our tests showed no significant difference from the Kinematic mode.
Speaking of the disconnections, could you provide a screen recording of them? You can also email it to support@emlid.com as it may contain sensitive information. Also, what exact kind of network did you use out on the field in such cases? Thanks!
Hello Viktor! I have had RS2 for several years now and with this new firmware the rover resets itself while I am working, could you verify it? thank you Luis
Hi Luis,
Can you please specify in which circumstances these resets happen? Do I understand correctly that the receiver reboots itself? If so, can you please send me a full system report of your Reach RS2? I’ll look into it. As it contains sensitive information, you can also email it to support@emlid.com.
I have used this newer 32.1 firmware on an RS3 in the field for a few days and it is much improved over 32. The IMU will still need to be recalibrated by moving the receiver around if you do remain stationary for a short period of time, but this is happening nowhere near as often or as quickly as with the previous firmware version. The recalibration is usually fairly quick to perform when it is required.
Thanks for getting this out so quickly.
Hello everyone!
Today we’ve released Reach Firmware 32.2 for all devices!
Here is the list of fixes:
Hello Viktor
My RS2 reciever shows that version 32.2 is available, but when I try to update, it recerts back to the current version (29.2) and states that it is up to date.
Any advice?
Thanks
Hi @chchandheld,
Welcome to the community!
How is your Reach RS2 provided with an Internet connection?
Could you please connect it to another Wi-Fi network and then try to update the firmware again? Thanks!
Superb.
Thank you Kornel. That worked.
