Please also measure the voltage as it’s shown on the pic below:
@tatiana.andreeva thanks! actually that’s 3.3V as shown in the pic. I must not have had a good ground. Also, I reflashed to original emlid raspbian and:

There must be something up with that other image. Super weird - I don’t know if its some of the openvino install or maybe a difference in raspi-config. E.g. is there something disabled there perhaps. Anyway, it appears as though its all active so I probably need to build everything back up from a fresh image (which unfortunately takes hours). If there were some way I could find the diff – whatever offending config setting or lib is interfering with rcio comms in my other image it would be way quicker to correct that.
