Raspberry Pi GPIO pins are taken up by Navio2

Hi,

I am trying to do surveillance using PIR sensors and camera module in raspberry pi. But unfortunately the GPIO pins are taken up by the Navio2 HAT and there’s no way for me to access them so what are my alternatives since I want to connect the PIR sensor pins to the Raspberry pi 4?

Best Regards,
Mohammed

Hi Mohammed,

It’s an interesting case as I haven’t seen the Navio2 users trying to connect such a sensor!

Is it possible to connect the sensor via UART, for example? If it requires only the GPIO pins occupied by Navio2, there’s no standard path of connecting such a sensor. The only choice is to disconnect Navio2 from the Raspberry Pi to free up those pins. But I guess you need to leave Navio2 connected :slightly_smiling_face:.
