PPS from GPS

I have been trying to find out how to access the PPS line from the GPS with no luck.

Are there schematics to show which pin the PPS would be connected to and how to configure for the PPS to be enabled? I have found the PPS configuration in u-center but have not had any luck in finding which GPIO it would be attached to on the Pi.

The PPS is planned to be used for tight time synchronization.

I am using Navio2 and Raspberry Pi 4B w/ NEO-M8N.

Hi Nate,

Welcome to the community forum!

I’d need to check this information with the team. I’ll post an update here as soon as I get it.

i too am interested in this. I see from the M8N datasheet that pin 3 is PPS and GPIO18 (pin12) on the pi header is available so it could potentially be jumpered.
Can we confirm that the PPS (pin 3) on the Navio2 board is not routed to the header? It does not appear to be per the pinout diagram.
thank you!

Hi everyone,

We have checked this case. PPS signal can’t be output from Navio2’s GNSS module as no hardware connection to a pin is provided. The only workaround here is to use external GPS with Navio2 to get the PPS output from the device.
