Postprocessing Drone Data from DJI Mini 4 Pro with APOS-PP

My company has bought a DJI Mini 4 Pro and i have set out on the mission of improving the georeferencing of the photogrammetric processing results.
Thereby i found the APOS-PP (which is a network of refernce stations in Austria that provides free data for post processing in RINEX-Format) and Emlid.

I have now tried and thereby failed to correct the geotags of the images captured with said drone. I am not able to transform the .dat-files of the flight log of the drone into a format that can be processed by emlid.

I tired the following things:

  1. changing the file type by renaming to rtcm3 and converting in emlid
  2. converting it via StaticToRinex (static to rinex conversion tool by stonex).
  3. changing the file type by renaming to rtcm3 and converting in dat2rnx which is essentially RKCONV (dat2rnx by datagnss)

Can anyone uncover my mistake? I am new to this topic…is this even possible with a non-RTK drone?

The Mini 4 Pro does not log Rinex.

Yes, i know that it does not create a RINEX-File.

However this: DJI L2 PPK and this: Converting DJI .dat files led me to believe that you can transform other formats into RINEX, especially .dat as the dat2rnx also suggests.

My question is: can I transform .dat files into rinex or is this simply not possible?

Hi @a.katzlberger,

I agree with @michaelL. DJI Mini 4 Pro does not log RINEX data. The .dat file doesn’t contain the raw data logs from the satellites. Instead, it contains low-level flight data such as coordinates, IMU data, etc.

With this, it won’t be possible to post-process your data and geotag your images with Emlid Studio.
