May be a silly question however I would like to use the hotshoe trigger event function on generic cameras and do a basic non PPK/RTK geotag. Does the Emlid Studio allow for geotagging without BASE log files or Ntrip data?

Yes, you can process the data in standalone mode (using only the rover’s observations and navigation file). To do this, you can disable the use of the base observations in the settings:
It’ll allow you to process the data and geotag the photos. But please note that the accuracy of the coordinates, in this case, will only be a few meters.
