New to this - Not getting the right numbers

I am just dipping my toes into learning this wide world of RTKs. I am hoping to use the data to survey water level sensor stations to be able to get water elevation data in NAVD88. Our group has two RS+ units. I tried it out the other day as follows:

  • went to a NGS marker with a NAVD88 elevation of 20.329 meters
  • set up one RS+ unit to receive NTRIP corrections from a nearby site
  • waited for fix, collected data point
  • exported data, “elevation” says 20.009 meters

Both survey project and NTRIP are in NAD83. I do not have a good understanding of all the variables and how it all works, so any suggestions for where to learn the basics and how to get the right readings using NTRIP would be appreciated.

Hi @coastalocean,

Welcome to our community!

Can you please share the CSV file of the collected point and the coordinates of the NGS marker with me? Also, which NTRIP provider and mount point were you using to receive corrections? You can also email them to support@emlid.com as they may contain sensitive information.

These will help me investigate why the elevations don’t match. Thanks!

Hi @coastalocean,

I received your CSV file via email and answered you there. Can you please check your inbox when you have time? Thanks!
