MTBF for Reach M2

Hi, I’m planning to use some Reach M2 units in base-rover configuration for a project and the client is interested in the reliability of the devices and asked about the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) value.

Is there any information available on that for the M2? Or for the RS2?

Thanks.

Hi Gustavo,

We haven’t determined this value, but we thoroughly test all devices and software before releasing them to check they work flawlessly. If we notice any software issues, we are doing our best to fix them as soon as possible.

The warranty lasts 1 year for Reach RS2 and 60 days for Reach M2. In case of any hardware issues, we’ll send a replacement after a short troubleshooting procedure. Also, we provide lifetime support for all Reach devices via email and community forum.

Reach RS2 is designed to be able to work as a permanent base station. It is water- and dustproof on the IP67 standard, so it can withstand harsh weather conditions. I can suggest exploring this case study in which Reach RS2 was successfully used as a base station throughout the wet season.

Hi @kseniia.suzdaltseva, thanks for your reply. Just another question: Is there any plan in your roadmap to determine this value and provide it as part of the specs? It will be very valuable for considering the inclusion of the units as part of a line of products.

Thanks.

Hi Gustavo,

At the moment, we don’t have such plans. However, thanks for the request! It’s noted.
