Mount point list - no order, and too many now

This wasn’t a big concern a couple years ago. But now that apparently everyone is using the Emlid Caster, it’s causing a bit of an issue with our Topcon machine control systems.

When I switch a machine to use the nTrip caster, I have to select the correct mount point of course.

But on Topcon, there is no option to type in the address (M29XX etc etc).
so I just have to scroll through the list.

But now there is literally thousands of mount points to select from. But they aren’t showing up in any reasonable order.

See my photo of the selection screen.

I have been thinking as much these past two years. I’m running FieldGenius and it has the same problem. No way to search, sort, or favorite my own.

I agree. I’ve setup a few machines and rovers lately and have had trouble scrolling through the mount points. Would be good to have them in numerical order at least, or ideally closest to you.

Hi all!

The NTRIP mount point list should be sorted by distance. Are you experiencing this issue only when using the Topcon machine control, Field Genius, or other third-party software? Does it also occur when using Emlid Flow on your mobile phone? If yes, please share your mobile device model and the version of Emlid Flow you’re using.

You can find this information at the bottom of the Profile tab in the app:

This is just when using 3rd party hardware.

@millsy.g I believe there’s not much we can do here right away. Since it depends on how the software treats the stream from the Emlid Caster. However, I will pass this feedback on to the team.

I wonder if it would be possible to only stream the mount points that are linked to the login? I assume right now you are streaming the entire list. This seems like it would use a lot more data than it needs to.

What was that command or weblink to check the status of caster mountpoints again? I’ve seen it here before.

Not the caster.emlid.com but it was another one.

@millsy.g For now, we’re displaying the full list of mount points. You can view them at this link. So it’s not possible for now, however really appreciate the feedback. I’ve passed it along to the team to consider loading only the mount points associated with a user’s login.

Current MOUNT POINTS:

caster.emlid.com:2101 (clicking it doesn’t work, must enter it manually in the browser or copy/paste).

Maybe could search mount points, cut/paste data into third party apps as workaround???
