We use the Emlid Reach RS2+ for mobile mapping and photography. On two of our units, we are experiencing automatic disconnect of the mobile data. It keeps toggling itself off which causes us to lose our correction input…
Does anyone else have this problem or know a solution to it?
This shouldn’t work this way. Let’s check what can cause this issue. Adjusting the setup can usually solve this, so we need to look into that first.
What SIM provider do you use? Also, please generate the Full System Report. This contains sensitive information and should not be shared publicly, so please send it to us at support@emlid.com.
Please also include the details below in an email:
Were there any changes before the SIM card stopped working, such as a firmware update or a change of the survey location?
Does the receiver work on the latest firmware version? Please also check the Emlid Flow version.
Oh, I see. From our investigation, it looks like Verizon has some restrictions that prevent it from working well with RS2+. With this, I’m afraid it’s not possible right now to use Verizon on RS2+.
We haven’t conducted local tests, but as far as I know, some of our users and dealers from the US have successfully worked with Google FI Wireless/EIOTCLUB/Twilio/SPECTRUM SIM cards. If the SIM card supports switching between several mobile operators, you may need to restrict it to 1 provider.
On the other hand, you can still use the Internet from a Verizon SIM card to connect to the Internet. You would need to insert the SIM card inside the mobile phone and share the Internet via hotspot.
