Good day. Is it possible to use the lora radio if I have two emlid M+ one as a base and one as a rover?.

Can I send correction from the base that is M+ to the rover that is also M+ through lora radio?

Hi @maujageomatics,

Welcome to the community forum!

We’ve been in touch with you via email, but I’ll share my reply here. Just in case someone with the same question comes across it.

A short answer is yes, it’s possible with a pair of LoRa antennas. However, since Reach M+ is designed for integration with a drone, there are a few things to bear in mind:

  • Reach M+ doesn’t have a mount thread, so its placing over a point may be a bit tricky.
  • The unit doesn’t have IP67 protection, which makes it vulnerable to water and dust.
  • To work with the module, you’ll need an external power source, such as a power bank.

Also, just wanted to note that Reach M+ is single-band. It means that it requires a clear sky view like in an open field to provide you with centimeter-accurate coordinates. Here are our tips for the receiver’s placement as well.

Thank you for clarification
