LoRa frequency ranges for base and rover don't match

Hi all,
I recently updated the firmware for both of my RS2 units and since then I am unable to establish a Base/Rover setup due to the allowed LoRa frequencies not matching. The LoRa frequencies allowed for each unit as follows:
Base: 902.0-928.0 MHz
Rover: 863.0-870.0 MHz
How am I supposed to broadcast the Base corrections to the Rover if there isn’t an overlapping LoRa frequency between the two of them?
Thanks for your help.

Hi @jkelly17,

Welcome to the community!

The available frequency range for LoRa is automatically set based on the receiver’s location. Can you please check it after taking the receivers outside and ensuring they have at least a SINGLE solution? Thanks!

I have the same exact problem. I’ve had these units for over a year and I’ve never had this problem before. I’m not sure if it was the most recent update or something else that happened, but Emlid Flow will not allow me to select the same frequency for my base and Rover.

I have an RS2 base and an RS3 rover

Thanks for replying, glad I’m not the only one who is experiencing this. I’m getting around the LoRa issue for now by using Emlid Caster.

I’ve been getting around the issue using NTRIP via the Maine DOT CORS Network. We’ll be out of luck using our rovers in an area with bad cell service though.

Hi guys,

Thank you for sharing more details!

I’m glad to hear that NTRIP can serve as a workaround, but of course, I’d like to help figure out what’s going on with the LoRa frequency range so that you can also work in areas without cellular coverage.

So, let’s look into the situation. Could you please share a full system report from both the base and the rover? I’ll check them to investigate why the frequency range is updated only on one of the receivers.

As the reports may contain confidential details, please feel free to email them to support@emlid.com. Thanks!
