Lora amplifier EMLID store

Good morning, I would like to know when the lora amplifier will be available in the EMLID store, I have seen that distributors in some countries have it available, but I have not found it in the EMLID store.

Haven’t heard of Emlid releasing a LoRa amplifier extender?

They do have this UHF radio in their store. RS3 receives UHF with UHF antenna and one of these. Otherwise, need 2 UHF radios if non RS3 to both send and receive between 2 receivers:

Yes, I am referring to this amplifier, the characteristics are the following:

  • Small, light and transportable
  • Low energy consumption, compatible with Powerbanks
  • Amplifies the power of LoRa 20 times, going from 0.1 W to 2 W.
  • More stable and better quality signal.
  • Go further than with the integrated LoRa Radio.

THANKS! AWESOME!

So can see the next models of Emlid receivers incorporating this! Hopefully more GNSS bands too that can mitigate false fixes too like Javads, Trimble and Hemisphere’s (Carlson) !?

Hi Herson,

We currently don’t plan to sell LoRa amplifiers in the Emlid store. You can check if dealers near you sell it. All of our dealers can be found here.

Does anyone have any experience yet with the amplifier??
We are very excited to get hold of a couple but they aren’t available though our dealer yet.
We find external aerials to be a big improvement in range and reliability with receiving corrections but these amplifiers look they could offer amazing improvements!

Does anyone know if any US based dealers are selling this?
The Topotrade site is not working out for me.

What i find real odd, is why wouldn’t Emlid sell this in their store knowing a LOT of users would buy it. Especially being a Emlid product with their name stamped on it?

Is it not being sold as it may conflict with a new model coming out soon with it built-in? I would assume a new model would and also have built-in UHF “send” also, not just receive.

Good luck, not seeing anything in the USA.

Know nothing about this Philippines distributor so contact at your own risk.

Thanks - TopoTrade looks like it might be closer hemispherically.
Guess I’ll reach out to them by phone to assist with my purchase

Careful either way being international transactions, taxes, customs, long delivery times etc etc. Ugggh.

Be careful, it’s a highly complex area and regulatory controls vary widely by each individual geography. In most regions it’s illegal to sell radiocommunications equipment that hasn’t been assessed for regulatory compliance by the national authority.
And a key consideration here is it’s not a captive configuration that can be easily certified, any directional antenna could be fitted, which along with the higher transmit power could easily exceed max EIRP for many regions.

Here’s an example for RS3 SAR only, but it will give you some idea what goes on in the background for these devices:

Yep, I was thinking that the amplifier may exceed FCC regulations.

I know one thing, the FCC has been cracking down on non-licensed radios for high powered UHF GNSS use.

Yes.
I’m somewhat anticipating these challenges.

That’s okay. I’m not using in the U.S.

Hi everyone,

The main reason why we don’t plan on selling our LoRa amplifiers in the USA is that they are not certified for the market.

LoRa radio is low-powered, so it’s best suited for rather open areas with a line of sight between the base and the rover. When the line of sight is obstructed, these options can be helpful:

  • If you have access to the internet, you can use Emlid Caster.
  • If you don’t have access to the internet, you can connect third-party radios using Reach cable.
