Is there source code for the RC IO processor?

I’m looking at getting the Navio 2 for my plane build. I have a Navio original and Navio+ for my two helicoptors. I am curious as I can’t seam to find an answer, is there source code available for the RC IO co processor on the Navio2? I don’t mind too much that the board is closed hardware but the co processor’s source being closed might be a deal breaker for me.

RCIO processor driver is highly integrated in Linux kernel and firmware is not intended for customization. It is simply a peripheral expander. There is an ongoing work to release the source code, but I have no eta.
