i work for a fence company and i purchased emlid rx to see if i can make measuring handrail/custom iron for my fabricators easier and faster. What format, app… is everyone using to be able to use the lines build off of. i currently am using autodesk inventor for my cad program, i am new to emlid and surveying, but i want to learn so any help would be much appreciated. I have been able to open a dxf with points but it is not lines that i can draw off of.
I may not completely understand your use case but this sounds like what we do every day in construction. We use the receiver to lay out alignments to build to. Whether is be roadways, underground utilities or buildings the points generated from, designed to and then layed out are the basis of the build.
Hi @jg1,
Welcome to our community!
In general, Reach RX is a good choice for working with lines. Do I understand correctly that you’re facing difficulties with importing your DXF file? If so, can you please elaborate on your experience with it? Thanks!
yes i am having issue on transferring it to inventor cad program. is there a better download or app that i can use to get measurements off of or view?
Hi @jg1,
In Emlid Flow, you can collect lines and export the project to DXF format. Afterwards, you can import the exported file to Inventor.
Do I understand correctly that you have an issue with this workflow? If so, can you please specify at which step? Thanks!
