Inquiry about connectivity between Emlid GNSS base and DJI Matrice 4E drone via Emlid Caster

I hope you are doing well. I am reaching out to seek guidance on the connectivity between an Emlid GNSS base and a DJI Matrice 4E drone through the Emlid Caster service.

I am currently setting up the transmission of RTCM corrections from the Emlid GNSS base to the drone via Emlid Caster and have some questions regarding system compatibility and optimal configuration:

  1. GNSS base connectivity: Must it remain connected to a Wi-Fi network at all times, or are there alternative ways to maintain RTCM correction transmission?
  2. DJI Matrice 4E drone connectivity: If the base and the drone are in separate locations, does the drone require an independent Wi-Fi connection to receive RTCM corrections?
  3. Recommended configuration: Are there specific parameters that should be adjusted on the GNSS base or drone to ensure a stable and precise connection?

I would greatly appreciate your guidance on these aspects, as well as any additional documentation that may help optimize the setup.

We removed the previous comment as it looked like an AI response. Let me answer all your questions.

  1. You do not necessarily need an internet connection. You can read about local NTRIP and integration with Emlid Caster in this guide. You can use the Wi-Fi hotspot of your Reach device or any router, just follow the guide mentioned above. Please note that you will have to stay close to the router or base with your controller to have a connection between them.
  2. If the drone and base are at separate locations, you must have Internet on both devices. You can connect your controller and base to an existing Wi-Fi network, like your mobile hotspot. Also, you can use a SIM card inside the base device to have internet access separately.
  3. The settings from this guide should be enough.
