Importing DXF File

Hi There,

I’m sure this is something really simple, but I can’t seem to find the answer online…

I’m importing a DXF file into Emlid Flow, but I can’t figure out how to get the scale / unit of measure correct. The DXF is exported with a line at say 10,000mm long, but is showing in Emlid Flow as 10,000m long.

In other cad programs we work with we have the option of selecting the unit of measure for the import, but I can’t find how to do this in Emlid Flow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks heaps everyone,

Do not import the dxf at plan scale but rather using ground distance/real life coordinates

Hi @Sudfelt,

Welcome to the community!

Could you try to export it from the CAD program in meter units?

Hi Adrian,

Thanks for taking the time to respond :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m not sure how to do this sorry… I don’t seem to have any options presented to me inside Emlid Flow that give me that option - that I can see anyhow.

Or are you thinking that is an export function out of the CAD software?

Thanks again,

Hi Marryna,

Thanks for your response!

We’ve done a bit of digging with the designers in this space, and they done this, but it seems to have lost the geo references in the export somehow…
It was coming in somewhat correctly, as in the starting coordinate was correct and then just the wrong scale from there.

So kind of one step forward, one step back so far

Cheers

Perhaps if you described your current workflow with a brief description of what you hope to achieve that would add some clarity and help us to arrive at a suitable recommendation

@Sudfelt, you can also share the data so we can help check it further. If you prefer to keep the data private, you can send it directly to support@emlid.com.
