How to later open Event Pos file after processing?

I have tagged my drone images no problem. Closed the ES app. I need to open up the plot so I can delete a few images as they are contributing too many to the Photogrammetry process (PropellerAero 1000 images = 1 credit… I have 1079).
Typically there are too many at the flight run ends/turns. this is where I want to thin the count.
I can use RTLpolt But I cannot ‘see’ the image number on the plot.
Is there a way to open Pos files (event files) in ES after closing the app?
Thanks

Hi @RPAS_Aust,

Yes, you can open the event.pos file in Emlid Studio by simply dragging and dropping it. Then, you can click on an event, which will show you the coordinates, and delete the corresponding photo from your folder. Before deleting please check what photo corresponds with the turns or ends of the flight you want to delete.

You can also open the event.pos file (or MRK file) in text editor check the first event based on the coordinates and delete the corresponding photo.

Thanks Keith, That answers part of the problem. Its a shame the plot doesnt provide the image name/id of the mrk file to help id an event.
Im now looking at converting the MRK file to csv, delete columns to leave basic info to open as a GPX file in Google Earth…see how I go. Thanks

This worked perfectly.
Use to bring the image count under the Propeller credit. Typically the drone will take excessive image at the flight line ends so you can delete a couple. Also systematically deleting every, say 10th, image will not upset Photogrammetry processing.

Take the MRK file and change to a CSV
Open in excel (with tabs and commas selected for columns)
Delete all columns except basic:
Insert a header: Name Latitude Longitude Elevation
Save as CSV
Online go to GPSvisualizer.com
Load file
Select output to Google Earth (KMZ)
Go
Will create a file to open in either in ArcGIS or GE

Note the image labels to be delete
Return to Propeller Upload and delete images

Hi @RPAS_Aust,

Thank you for sharing your workflow! It will be helpful to other users who are facing the same issue. I’m looking into why the plot doesn’t display the image name.

@RPAS_Aust I’ve shared your feedback with the developers about including an image ID in the plot or event.pos file for consideration. If there are any updates, I’ll keep you informed.

If you have any questions, feel free to start a thread or reach out to us at support@emlid.com. Have a great day!
