FrSky X6R and X8R receivers

I’m about to get a new FrSky X9E transmiter, but I’m a bit puzzled if Navio+ can support the X6R or X8R receivers.

Both of the receivers support PXX/PPM.

Can I connect my Navio+ directly to an X8R, or do I need an FrSky SBUS to CPPM Converter?

and what about the new Navio2 ?

Yes, you must use SBUS to CPPM Converter.
Navio2 supports PPM and SBUS signals as an RC input.
