Emlid Flow prompt user when an odd UTM zone is chosen

Hi,

We love your kit.

As non-specialists it can be challenging for some to configure the correct projected coordinate system when travelling across UTM zones.

I wonder if the information is available to have Emlid Flow prompt the user if their nominated survey configuration does not match the UTM zone they are located in.

Looking at NAD83 / UTM zone 10N - EPSG:26910 for example, the projected bounds are very large but the page includes Area of use: North America - between 126°W and 120°W. Another example would be GDA2020 / MGA zone 56 - EPSG:7856

I guess I am asking if this area of use might be available behind the scenes and could be checked. Certainly someone could be working near zone boundaries and have legitimate reasons to be configured for the wrong zone.

Hi @RussellGrew! Nice to hear the devices are serving you well.

I agree with you that such a prompt can useful select a coordinate system. It can help avoid mismatches and incorrect configurations. I have passed along the idea; however, we currently don’t have any plans on it. I will be sure to keep you posted if anything changes.
