When doing pavement work, we create and use a lot of curves. Is there a way to create curves in Emlid Flow and Emlid Flow 360?
Sure would be nice… the complete set of DXF objects which include curves (splines), circles, arcs etc.
Gonna have to use segmented lines workaround for the time being or other 3rd party survey software which actually import / export even 3D curves for layout, not just 2D. I.e. Microsurvey FieldGenius.
Thank you good folks at Emlid for your hard work! I would like to say that this is an essential for any professional surveyor in the United States. Emlid Glow cannot be used without it.
Hi @TheOutpost,
Emlid Flow does not yet support other complex geometries, such as curves and arcs. However, I’ll add your request to our list as a +1 and pass it along to our development team for future consideration.
Hi everyone,
Most definitely horizontal curves are required. I’ve been using survCE for a number of years, with emlid Reach the only option is nmea through Bluetooth (in survCE), with base started in emlid flow for corrections.
For normal setting out of points and data collection, Emlid flow is much faster and more user friendly.
Emlid, please look at horizontal curves for setting out.
Thanks Emlid for a great program and hardware.
Hi Carel,
Thank you for your kind words! I can see how this feature can be useful. I’ve noted your request and I’ll let you know if we have any updates.
Add a plus 1 for me. This would be huge in Emlid flow and flow 360 survey!
Hello, bows would also be important to me.
Using external software in the field is impractical.
We work a lot with CAD programs in the office. But creating something on the construction site would be ideal.
in my case, it would be to create a circular arc from 2 tangents. Many programs can only do this with the help of the center (which is often not possible) and the radius (but this is often not known) and if this is known, I cannot stake out the center.
We would also be interested in an EMLID FLOW solution for circular arcs.
We are not a surveying agency, we are landscapers.
best regards
Jan Müller
May not be as EXACT as Emlid (for GIS and Surveying), but perfect for the landscape industry:
Hello
I’ve been using the Moasure for 4 years, but only as a supplement.
The new staking function is not precise enough for me.
Noted your requests as well! Thank you for the detailed explanation, @muellergalabau.
I’ll agree with @timd1971 on this software/device. It’s fairly accurate although it’s not survey grade accuracy. It’s also very easy to use and the software is user friendly. You can do topography, areas, 3D measurements, feature locations as well as volumes.
You can also import the data into many CAD programs via .dxf files.
We use it mainly for rough locations like driveways and such. It makes locating non-important areas easy as walking and frees up the robot or GNSS receivers for more important locations.
I would highly recommend Moasure !
Emlid needs to really ramp up it’s software features faster with BRUTE FORCE. People like its overall ecosystem style and feel, but need more.
Just replicate everything FieldGenius does but with Emlids own spin on it. Yes, easier said than done
