Connecting Reach base to external radio

Hi
I need to use a 3rd party external radio to extend the baseline. Since most radios on the market have 5 pin ports, is it possible to connect to emlid base via serial ? and what’s the wiring diagram

Thanks

I presume it’s the same for the RS2, but you may want to verify that by finding your model’s diagram.

Thank you Jaccen for your reply.
I already know the pinout for emlid serial port. my question was wether it’s compatible with 5pin for external radios or not and which wires should be connected and which should be eliminated.

Thanks

Hi @akiari,

Reach can work with different radios via serial. RS3 and external radio can be connected as follows:

RX ↔ TX

TX ↔ RX

GND ↔ GND

Do you have any particular external radio in mind? Does the radio you want to use support UART? If so, you can use the UART TTL to RS232 adapter to connect it.

And I see that Jasen has already provided the pinout for our RS232 port.
