So we want to mount 3DM-GQ7 and 3DM-RTK on a robot and run it underground, so that means it cannot see the satellite and receive corrections. Our plan is to set up Emlid Reach RS2 as a base station that is connected to NTRIP, and set up 3DM-GQ7 with 3DM-RTK like rover, then we can use LoRa to connect them, so that 3DM-GQ7 and 3DM-RTK can receive corrections from RS2. To get to the settings of 3DM-GQ7 and 3DM-RTK, they have to connect through a software called SensorConnect. So we are having trouble connecting them together, I don’t know if it’s even possible to do it.
Can anyone give an answer to this? Appreciate any kinds of help.
Hi Jinwen,
Thank you for reaching out! It sounds like you have an interesting setup in mind. Regarding your question, our LoRa antenna is designed to work with our products. It won’t be compatible with third-party devices like the 3DM-GQ7 and 3DM-RTK.
About working underground: If the rover is underground, it will be hard to get satellite visibility. Meanwhile, a GNSS receiver needs satellite visibility to calculate its position, both for the base and the rover.
Hope it helps. Feel free to let me know if you have further questions!
