Hi I am also having connection problems when trying to get android phone and tablets to connect to the Reach (RS2 and RS3) using version 32.2 of EMmlid Flow. I can connect to the RS when it is broadcasting it’s wifi so i can turn on the bluetooth. But then it refuses to connect once both the android device and RS are connected to a third party hotspot. It says it is available but then shows the message “Can’t connect to Reach”. I would perhaps second the original concern - is it actually connecting to the bluetooth because it never asked for the PIN. I can get an iPhone to connect, so it is likely an android problem.
Welcome to our forum!
Once your mobile device and Reach are connected to the same network, you don’t need to enter any PIN. Since your iPhone connects fine using the same hotspot, it suggests the issue may be specific to Android devices.
Let’s try adjusting a few settings on your phone to see if they help:
- Disable Battery Optimization for the Emlid Flow app.
- Turn off Mobile Data, as it might interfere with your connection to other networks.
Also, could it be that the external hotspot broadcasts on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies? Some networks operate on both simultaneously, and Reach might connect to one while your phone connects to the other. To avoid this, try setting the hotspot to 2.4 GHz only.
It’d be helpful to test connecting Reach to a different Wi-Fi network to see if the issue persists.
