I often check the AR validation ratio (RS+) to make sure I haven’t dropped into a bad fix. Usually anything below 600 is getting risky.
The last few times I’ve been out, the status screen is stuck on the data when it was first opened until I restart Emlid Flow.
My device is an LG G7.
Hi @RyanJMcGowan,
Regarding your case with the RS+ AR Validation Ratio, I wanted to share a few suggestions that might help with the case:
-
Can you check if you’re using the latest version of Emlid Flow (version 11.4) and the latest firmware for your RS+ (version 32.2)?
-
Also, I would like to ask about the environment in which you encountered this behavior of the Emlid Flow app? We always recommend providing good environmental conditions for the receiver (clear sky view, no obstructions from buildings or trees, avoiding areas close to high-voltage lines and electronic interferences).
-
If possible, could you try to reproduce the issue again and provide a screencast of the app showing it?
This information could be helpful for us to understand the case fully.

I will check the firmware today. I update it fairly often.
The environmental conditions were perfect, and the behavior is consistent across multiple days, and never varied from that behavior. The status screen would show float solution when the top right indicator was showing fixed, and none of the numbers changed unless I restart the app.
I’ll see if I can’t upload a screencast later today.
One of my receivers did not have the latest firmware and somehow I missed that. It’s operating normally now. Thanks.
The issue does still appear after updating the firmware, but possibly not when connected to WiFi outside the receiver as it did appear to resolve after updating. However, the next day when the receiver was the hotspot, the status screen was stuck at the first time it was opened. As you can see, it still shows a fix solution even when the solution is float. This screen remains until the app is restarted.
Hi @RyanJMcGowan,
The AR Validation Ratio helps to indicate how much better the top “Fix” solution is compared to the next best option. Any value above 3 signifies a strong solution, allowing Reach to classify the RTK solution as “Fixed.”
Regarding the screen displaying “Float” even if have a Fix solution, I’d like to investigate this further. Could you provide the exact timestamp when this issue occurs? Additionally, please send the Full System Report, as this will help to diagnosing the issue. Just a note that the Full System Report contains some personal information, so you can send it securely to support@emlid.com.
I’ll email the System Report.
I have had bad shots with AR values in the low hundreds vs 999, but usually this is in degraded conditions such as near truck trailers, traffic poles, and trees. I am using Fix and Hold for my surveys because I’m moving around a lot.
