Archaeological Surveying

I just received my first Reach RTK set and am already very impressed. Out of the box it has been working really well…a few kinks to work out, but perfectly reasonable. The web interface is quite good.

This summer I will be using the Reach for an archaeological survey in Ireland. We will be using it for topographical survey and establishing ground control points for aerial survey.

One very handy use with this would be to transfer coordinates and elevations to a webdatabase running mysql. In other words, have a point to measure within the web database and then put one of the Reaches on the spot and take a point. If this works as I think it will, this will be great.

Im still looking at bluetooth integration. if I managed to get that set up…i will have everything i need.
