You have to connect external antenna to labeled ANT socket.

As @timd1971 mentioned, yes the M2 is not built with a internal antenna, it will be require to use this model of GNSS antenna, You can connect it to the M2 via the external connector to receive signal, we have this guide explaining more about the M2 and the antenna placement.
