I have designed an adapter for standard survey pole (3 cm diameter) to connect it with tripod (in my case also 3 cm diameter, but can be used with slightly smaller and bigger tripods). Posted the design here: Survey pole adapter for tripod by yurish - Thingiverse . Maybe someone will need it.
