I am a data scientist with a DOT Drone Team, wherein my core responsibility is to create & quantify repeatable workflows within CAD and/or GIS platforms for various engineering and environmental applications.

We are fortunate enough to have a free CORS system in our state, so we purchased a handful of Emlid RS3 units to capture Ground Control Points (GCPs) /Checkpoints to be used in our processing, which we take very seriously.

In order for the RS3’s to receive corrections via NTRIP (correction input), they are connected to an iOS device hotspot, which allows for Position Streaming to be provided via a TCP server (NMEA) configuration. We collect the data with Esri QuickCapture, which enables us to collect the data we need very quickly.
