Wifi Range

Is the wifi in the Reach RS+ and Reach M not really meant for sending correction data via RTK?
I was going to setup an access point on a pole that both could talk to to send RTK.
But it seems the wifi range is very short. I could barely walk to backyard fence about 30ft away from an access point.

If so how would you do RTK from a Reach RS+ to a M? The M does not have lora.

Hi Daniel,

Wi-fi in Reach RS+ and Reach M+ is mostly used for working with ReachView app. The range is indeed short if you want to transmit the corrections using built-in Wi-Fi.

You can use external radios for RTK communication, like 3DR or RFD900.

Can you use the 3DR with the reach rs+?
Any way to use LORA with a reach M to talk with the LORA on the reach rs+?

Daniel,

Yes, you can connect 3DR radio to Reach RS+ via USB port.

In the meantime, Reach M+ doesn’t support LoRa communication.

There seems to be different versions of the 3dr radios.
Can you tell me which one works well with emlid?

Daniel,

I think version 2 is more convenient for your workaround
