Just got smartnet NTRIP with Carlson survpc, but still not getting Fixed position.
Using the smartnet Ntrip credentials in the Emlid flow app, just fine. Fix position. But having problems using RS3 with Carlson survpc.
Any advice?
Hey Fabian,
We’ve received your email as well. Let’s continue troubleshooting there.
Hi Fabian,
Thanks a lot for providing the screenshots!
Could you please also take a screenshot of your position streaming settings in Emlid Flow?
Fabian,
Thanks for the screenshots. I can see that Bluetooth connection is selected for Position streaming - can you please confirm that the format you’re using is NMEA? Also, do you have the following NMEA settings as shown in my screenshot?
What version of SurvPC are you running? We run SurvPC 6.16 and there is a 4rth tab to enter in the NTRIP info. How are you entering in the NTRIP information in SurvPC? I also use the NMEA method, but one could also try using the ublox config.
Yea, you would have to use surv in leiu of flow and put the ntrip connection info and credentials in surv.
Try setting it to DGPS for NMEA. The “RTK” tab should appear and then you should have 4 tabs. You can set it to get the internet from your Data Collector (ie. phone), punch in your NTRIP info, and then start checking into known points to make sure everything is good. You may need to enter in a custom antenna with the L1 & L2 offsets.
I seem to remember being able to “trick” things to work that way back with SurvCE 4 or 5. Dunno—it was a while ago and I have the memory of a goldfish.
Does the error with similar wording to “Base Point Unknown – Do you wish to continue?” pop up when you go into Survey - Store Points?
When I did it on a Surveyor+, I pumped internet to my RS2 and then just connected to it with SurvCE 5. I only did it that way because getting Windows Mobile to Bluetooth/Wifi connect to a phone was a PITA. Without the SurvCE device having internet, I had the RS2 handle NTRIP connection.
My set up was different in that scenario:
-Carlson Surveyor+ running SurvCE 5 as the DC
-Motorola Android phone as the hotspot for the RS2
Does it say ‘Autonomous’ or ‘Floating?’ One means you are not receiving corrections. We run our equipment on Cansel’s Cannet RTN. We have found that you cannot spec the highest bandwidth or it will not work with BRX7’s. I think we run 38400, but I would have to double-check as I am going from memory on that one.
I can probably grab some screens off a DC when the crews get back.
