I have an Emlid 1.8m survey pole which has made others a bit envious but the bottom section jams when pulling it out and retracting it. It is fairly new and not yet much used. Is there anyting I can do? I have tried loosening the allex screw on the bottom clamp but this made nodifference and I have also tried keeping both clamps open but to no avail.
I would be grateful for any suggestions.
Reagrds, Marcus
Turns out that I over tightened the clamp on the last extension and it put a slight dent in the pole so that’s what’s causing the sticking that prevents full retraction of the last segment.
I agree with your assessment regarding long-term extending and retracting of the pole sections @jcd , But I do really like the Emlid pole when elevation does not have to be ‘super’ accurate such as when measuring square yards of concrete sidewalks etc.
The lower section of my pole also does not completely close for some reason?
Welcome @marcus.lawrence
Hi, I think I have sort of solved the issue with some silicone spray. It’s a bit better but in truth I am unimpressed- the product is new and it has only been set up in my garden to practice using a GNSS receiver.
Being new to this I saw the product being from Emlid and stupidly assumed it would be a good product, particularly as it isn’t cheap.
When this one packs up I’ll be buying an AdirPro 710-10.
Hi @marcus.lawrence,
Can you send the video of your issue to support@emlid.com? I’ll check if there’s anything I can suggest for you. Please @minotminot, also send us a video if you can.
