I just updated the emlid flow app to version 13. I unfortunately have the issue that a cad layer is not showing any lines on the app. in the browser the layer is shown without issue. what could be the problem or how can I troubleshoot this?
I don’t know… it is showing in the browser, just not in the app. a less complex file does work so maybe too many lines? but shouldn’t browser vs. app show the same experience?
You’re totally right. It should look the same in both the Emlid Flow and Emlid Flow 360. It’s a bit odd that some lines aren’t showing up in the app, so let’s look into this together.
We’ve recently upgraded our database infrastructure to keep the stable real-time sync functionality. So, to make sure your CAD drawing syncs properly, you should use the latest version of Emlid Flow. Could you check if your app is up to date?
Also, on the Profile tab, what does it show for the Last Sync date? And can you see the Survey plan in your account?
thanks for your reply. I just checked for the things you mentioned:
I am on the latest software
survey plan is shown under profile
latest sync is right now, may 27th local time.
A more simple file does sync without issues (but it’s basically like 10 lines and two points).
I’ll try splitting up the files and see if that works. maybe the complexity limit is different between browser and app?
Thanks for checking all that and for the update! Hmm, that’s weird. The app and browser should handle file complexity in the same way.
To help investigate this further, could you share:
Your phone model and OS version
A screenshot of how you see the project in Emlid Flow and Emlid Flow 360
Also, please send over the file you’re uploading and its coordinate system. I’ll take a closer look. You can either email it to support@emlid.com or PM me.
I noticed you’re using two CAD drawings in your project, but I focused on testing the kanalisation.dxf file. I checked it on both Android and iOS devices. It showed up on Android just like in Emlid Flow 360. However, on iOS, the drawing didn’t appear on the map at all.
I opened the DXF file in Civil3D for a closer look. The file contains one polyline, while the rest of the details are grouped into a single object as a Block Reference. When I ran the AUDIT command, the system showed two errors. One unclosed hatch boundary was deleted, and the second was automatically corrected. After that, the corrected DXF opened fine on iOS, too.
It looks like Emlid Flow on iOS and Android treats the geometry differently. I’ve flagged this with the team so they can investigate it further. There’s no ETA I can share at the moment, but I’ll let you know if we have any news.
In the meantime, I’ve emailed you the fixed DXF so you can keep working without any delays.
